Well, here is the first glimpse at a record that just couldn't be anymore diverse in scope than it is. This song titled "Naked" was originally just a riff that kept emerging during our practices. It was finally decided we should act on it and try to form it into a song. Well here is the demo version of as only the drums are the keeper here all other instrumentation and the scratch vocal have been removed as of yesterday. Overdubbing is now taking place in the studio leaving only one song left to be recorded. We anticipate a July 20th release date!

As you might have read on our front page we are currently recording our first E.P. for you the people. What's next you ask? Well we are a little ways into the process at this point and we think we should have a finished product within a month or so. Now, as soon as we are done we will make sure we offer up some sample listens and allow everyone to purchase it. Make sure to check back frequently as hidden tracks, alternate takes and remixes will be posted for free downloading as they come to fruition.
Soul Junky are a group of musicians who have wandered far and wide to find the place they are right now. Right now that place happens to be located in the heart of the Midwest and most folks know it as the fine City of Chicago. The group consists of locals John Mott, Chris Hess, John Vander Weit and Grant Niebergall. Their contributions as musicians individually isn't necessarily as important as what they are now doing together and one can quickly hear that upon repeated listens.
We are happy to report that we have just recently started recording what we believe will soon be our first extended player. After a day long wagon trail ride out to the wilds of suburban Aurora we embarked upon the Secret Fun Spot Studio to record with engineer and co-producer Chris Radostits. Seven hours later we emerged with the beginnings of four songs.
